I've got more hatching today. ;D So far 1 Silver laced and the only fertile gold laced wyandotte. 5 more silvers to come and 2 out of my own pen. It should keep me occupied as the kids have given me their bugs and I feel pretty terrible. Will keep you posted and some pics later.

I'm feeling your pain shea. Have been fighting off the kids bug for a week now and feeling lousy. Something exciting to keep your mind off it

Thanks but still not feeling much better but we Mothers keep soldering on. So far 1 SLW, 1 GLW and 2 light sussex out of my own pen. The GLW is the only 1 I'm expecting to hatch due to fertility (the only 1 forming when I candled). I am a bit worried about it as one foot seems to be still curled up. The 2 that have hatched since have nice feet. The temp was perfect through this whole incubation period so I'm unsure as yet what to do. Hopefully it might straighten out after a bit of time.

I had one in my last hatch that had a curled toe - I follow advise from here and popped a small bandaid on the toe - and voila! Toe all better! (and only after about 2 days!) Hope it straightens out and hope you're feeling better too!

Here she is with her splint on. We straightened the toe on the right first wth a bandaid as it was the worst one and then put a piece of thin cardboard under the foot to keep it straight. She seems to be walking well, pecking at it a bit and so are the others but hopefully the novelty will wear off. Fingers crossed that this works.

Here is Goldie today and her foot seems ok. It's amazing how it can be fixed so quickly. I can't seemed to be fixed quite as quickly, am over the worst of it but still not too good, hopefully tomorrow I'll wake up and feel good.

Great news for the chick, it is truely amazing how quick you can fix their feet with a paddle pop ( my name for the splint)

That looks great Rina, which ones lay the dark eggs? Can't wait to see pics of your ducklings. I've also started collecting again and am up to 2 dozen. I think I'll set the incubator on the weekend.
