yes - I brought one chook from them around a year ago. Although nice healthy birds and laid an egg pretty much every day - I found her to be quite aggresive and ended up selling her on as she was doing too much damage to my other chooks.
I am not sure if this is because it is more of a commercial bird so they fight for there food more - or just a one off case!
Price was $30 each

I had them the first lot of layers I had in this place. Never again I hate them. I still have one as a pet, she has never laid an egg all the time we have had her, she runs the place and grabs all the best bits of food and is number one chook. hope this helps you out you may be better off buying birds from this site the guys had great stock from what I have had a look at Good luck Trev

wooooooooooooooo its a long gap from looking at phoenix to looking at isa browns! settle for a purebred and you will be much happier. apparently the quokka is going back to free livestock ads, and the livestock poultry section of the quokka is a good place to start.

Isa's are fine if you just want a short-term layer. But, I think from reading your previous posts that you are looking for something more pretty and pet-like. Go for a purebreed. You may not get as many eggs a week as you would with an ISA but they will lay for longer, live for longer and be friendlier with the other chooks you will introduce as the addiction takes hold ;D

I agree, go for a purebreed.

While you are looking, if you come across a Barnevelder go ahead and get her! I've only got 3 chooks, 1 light Sussex, 1 buff Sussex and 1 Barnevelder, but the Barnevelder is definitely my favorite. She is certainly the tamest and the one with the most brain also, she is very gentle, if she takes food out of your hand she'd never hurt you, even my little boy can feed her. None of them are laying yet, but I believe all of them should be good layers - once they've started that is it could be a one of, but from what I've read Barnevelders tend to be good with kids, mine certainly is ;D
