it could be bearded, but maybe not with a full beard. there are three forms..............non-bearded, heterozygous bearded ( a gene for bearded and a gene for non bearded) with only a half beard, and homozygous bearded (both genes are for beards). hope that helps you some.

Hopefully you've got a bearded chickie there Tina An example of what Jacquie said, Princess is homozygous whereas my "santa" roo is heterozygous.

I understand, I have seen full bearded pictures and thought that Princess was a bit light on. So the hen I have is a half beard....lol....sounds terrible

Yes I did notice that, you lucky bugger That bearded chickie that I hatched out with the splay legs last year had great middle toe feathering when it was born but it all disappeared as it matured

Maybe it will come back later, I noticed some of mine earlier hatched with middle to feathering only to lose it only to get it back later.....lots on only's there

Lol I can only wish, but knowing my luck it wont But nevermind she's still a gorgeous lil pullet, middle toe feathing or not. Her and Duchess are the best of mates
