Well what a fantastic result 100% with 6 light and 6 dark coloured chicks. Along with the two that where not part of the comp making a total of 14 out of 14. The silvery ones have dried further to being a dusty yellow so I think they will all turn out white.
So the winner is Mike who will get his scratchy when he returns. I bet he will be surprised...lol

If I win anything with my scratchie I will buy you a packet of lettuce seeds and you can grow your own! Hey, I won, me! and I didn't even know about it. Is this like lottery tickets? Should I stop entering now because the chances of me winning again are less? Not that I've ever won more than $17.40.

LOL Mike....Good luck I hope you win something on your scatchie. And Shelle maybe you should start scrounging round the rubbish bins at the supermarket where people discard the outside leaves of the lettuces. My Mum also does the scrounge for me at her supermaket and I also go to the Wanneroo Markets to get my freebees......My kids and hubby disown me if they go with me they recon I look like a bag lady

Been tempted so many times to ask, but just can't do it...so I buy lettuce and grab a few extra leaves out of the bin as I go by. Shelle would never even dream of asking and she would disown me too...lol

I get my lettuce from the farmers market when I do my weekly vege shopping. They let me take whatevers in the scrap bin. The chooks got allsorts last time, lettuce, tomatoes, peaches etc. Dont even bother asking at Coles etc. as they will say no. I just fill up a bag with lettuce leaves from the scrap pile and plonk a whole one on top. The ladies at the checkout dont mind. Also, if your kids/grandkids go to daycare, you can ask if you can supply a bucket or bag to collect leftovers. Skyes at her new daycare today and I got a big bag of vege scraps this morning as the cook had just finished preparing the lunch.

Actually Wendy I do a bit of what you said, I get scrap leaves out of the bin and then put a whole one on top and tell the checkout what I have done. So far no problems at all. Only trouble is not all shops have a scrap bin
