I haven't heard if the lady I sent the eggs to in Queensland has received them but if she does and they arrive intact we could use them for the next competition. I'll have to find out what day she sets them. I presume she's using an incubator.

Hi Cluck and Duck Diva, thank you for offering to monitor the next comps, if you would like to PM me the details, I will set up the threads. also Mike if the Lady in Qld wants to actually be the monitor on the hatch that would be fine as well, as long as it a different hatch date to what we already have.

Forget the Queensland hatch. For a start only six arrived intact and for a second I have realised I will be away around the time they will be hatching so I can't relay the information.

WEll guys it could be an interesting comp because the lady didnt get to post them Monday as its was a public holiday and today she didnt get home in time from work. So shes posting them tomorrow. I asked her when she collected the eggs and she said the oldest would be 5 days when she sends them She also said if I dont get a good hatch, she will send me some more wyandotte or milli d'uccle eggs. Im not very optimistic Im afraid.

Hey beck, I have ordered eggs from QLD. They arrived quickly. I incubated and some were fertile others had airbubbles. I didnt get any to hatch, but it may have been my fault ? I am thinking this time of year maybe not good to order eggs from the east due to lower fertility generally. The poor eggs have alot going against them as it is

I've ordered a few dozen from QLD, when posted Monday they arrive Wednesday. As Wendy said, its not the best time of year for incubating eggs at the moment because of lower fertility. Also there arent as many breeders selling fertile eggs because of that and also because alot of people don't breed during the hottest months. But I think you should go for it beck, if nothing else its a good learning experience
