Ok, I'm home A few more chickies have hatched today so we're now up to 18 Silkie, 16 Frizzled Pekin (I may be out by 1 or 2 so please forgive me ). I got my first pale coloured Frizzled Pekin chickie which was a pleasant surprise as I usually get mainly blues and blacks. It's still wet so I'm not sure of the exact colour yet, its either white or very pale bluey lavendery... Most of the Fr Pekins are shades of blue, and blacks. The Silkies are white, partridge and 1 grey. I'll take some piccies shortly when I take these newest ones down to the brooder.

I was in the middle of typing my post this morning when the power went out lol 3 more chickies hatched last night, 2 Frizzled Pekin and 1 Silkie. I checked the eggs this morning and only one was pipping with the others showing no signs of movement so I decided to just leave them and not worry about keeping the bator warm. I ended up helping this last chickie hatch and its not doing too bad, still quite weak so we'll see if it survives the night. It's a Frizzled Pekin. I was planning to put the chickies in the sunshine today (with a shaded area of course) but there was a chilly wind so there went that idea Then I had a brainwave lol, my feed shed is a shipping container, which warms up inside during the day as the sun shines on it. Perfect! So I put one of my bunnings cages in there with one side against the container wall so that side was warmer and put the chickadees in there. They were happy as larry I popped my thermometer in there with them so I could keep an eye on the temp as I was worried that it might get a bit hot in there this arvo but it didnt. I was quite pleased with myself for coming up with that idea lol The power came back on at about 2pm. So I'm pretty sure that the total count is 19 Silkie and 19 Frizzled Pekin.

I think rap might be closest wiith 26 and 19, being a total of 45. Everyone else went for a total of 50 or more.

Yes I agree with Mike that Rap is the closest. As Cluck N Waddle is the monitor for this hatch we do need to wait for confirmation. but I think pre confirmation congratulations to rap are in order on quite a well deserved win.
